Cryogenics and liquid nitrogen tanks can be used for cryopreservation of biological samples such as stem cells, plasma, semen, cells and strains. Their differences are as follows:




1. The temperature of liquid nitrogen is lower, which can reach - 196 ℃. The life activity in the sample basically stops at this temperature, and the stability of the sample can be preserved for a long time.



2. Ultra low temperature refrigerator is electric refrigeration, the cooling speed of electric refrigeration is lower than liquid nitrogen, once the container is opened to take and place samples, it is easy to cause a wide range of temperature fluctuations, and the temperature recovery time is relatively long, so it is more suitable for the case of less opening to take and place samples. In addition, the electric refrigerator must guarantee the power supply. In case of power failure, liquid nitrogen equipment is recommended to provide backup storage.



3. It is necessary to further protect the cross contamination of samples in liquid-phase storage of liquid nitrogen containers. It is easy for liquid nitrogen to permeate into the cryopreservation tube due to the poor sealing of the cryopreservation tube, which increases the risk of cross contamination between samples. One of the solutions is to use a special cryopreservation tube sleeve to heat shrink seal each cryopreservation tube, or use a sealing film to wrap 2-3 circles at the interface between the cryopreservation tube cap and the tube body for storage.
